VRTSralus and Remote Linux agent and directories encoding

Here is a work around that should let you back up the system with mixed localization:

The configuration file for the RALUS agent is located in /etc/VRTSralus. The file is named ralus.cfg. In a text editor such as vi or kwrite, locate the line

Software\VERITAS\Backup Exec\Engine\RALUS\Encoder=

after the '=' put the value LATIN-1

This will override the agent's localization detection and cause it to use an encoding that should allow the unicode characters to be translated correctly.

Prior to editing the configuration file, you will need to exec

/etc/init.d/VRTSralus stop

and then

/etc/init.d/VRTSralus start

after the edit to restart the agent with the new configuration.
